Coberley sets another Growth Challenge!
Coberley Village Fete is once again laying down the challenge to amateur gardeners, food and handicraft producers, photographers and artists to come up with trophy-winning entries to fill its marquee at the 2019 Produce & Handicraft Show.
It takes place at the Coberley Primary C of E School on Bank Holiday Monday, 26th August.
Show Secretary, Lindsay Baker commented “Last year’s show saw an enthusiastic response from the community to compete for the many challenge trophies in a wide range of categories, – from vegetables and flowers to preserves and cakes, from handicrafts to painting and photography.”
“Following its introduction in 2017 and huge success in the 2018 event, we will again be featuring the home-made scarecrow competition, with classes for both adults and children” added Lindsay.
“We are hoping that people from within the parish and from anywhere else, will be inspired to come forward with even more entries and push up the already-high standard”, she continued.
A silver band will be entertaining throughout the afternoon and there will be some visitors from the charming Cotswold Alpaca herd, with demonstrations of the ancient art of alpaca fleece spinning.
The Fete will again include the very popular Dog Show and amongst the many stalls and activities to tempt visitors, will be a BBQ, cream teas, pre-loved clothes, and a variety of games for children and adults too.
Ample parking is provided in the adjacent field and there is good wheelchair access.
All funds raised will go towards the upkeep of St Giles Church in Coberley.
