A Beacon to Celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, 2 June 2022

Coberley Parish Council invites you, your family and friends to the lighting of a celebratory Beacon, which is very kindly being hosted by the Powell Family on Hartley Hill at Hartley Farm, Hartley Lane, GL53 9QN on Thursday, 2 June.

We would be delighted if you can join us from 7:30pm onwards. In common with all participants across the UK, we will light our beacon at 9:45pm.

Hartley Hill is located on the north side of Hartley Farm and there will be parking available in the field nearby.

Food will be available to buy, at a discounted price, from Suzie’s Burger van (usually to be found in the Seven Springs layby).

Attendees are also welcome to bring their own picnics of food and drinks.

A supply of beverages, including beer from the local Cotswold Lion Brewery, wines and soft drinks, will be available free-of-charge, provided by the Parish Council.

However, the Council would like to invite parishioners and their guests to make a charitable donation to the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal  which will provide much-needed support to those suffering.

Please follow this link to donate. https://donate.redcross.org.uk/appeal/ukraine-crisis-appeal Thank you.

In order to assist with catering planning, please would you e-mail your intention to join us, together with the likely number in your group, to info@coberleyparish.co.uk by Friday, 20 May

As recorded in previous meeting minutes, the Parish Council was supportive of a second Jubilee event suggestion for a ‘Big Lunch’ on Sunday 5 June, driven by the Community, and it would have been pleased to work in collaboration with a community group and provide some funding.

However, as no interest has been shown in this suggestion, the Parish Council will focus all its available funding support on the Jubilee Beacon.

We very much hope that as many as possible of you will join us to celebrate this unique and remarkable occasion.
