Coberley Parish Council considered it a great honour to be part of the national tribute to Her Majesty The Queen by sponsoring the beacon event at Hartley Farm on behalf of the whole Parish of Coberley and its communities, in celebration of her Platinum Jubilee.
The Council is extremely grateful to the Powell family for so kindly hosting the event on their farm and for their hard work in preparing the beacon.
The Council is very thankful to the community for its support in attending the event and making it such a success and for the charitable donations made to the nominated charity, the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
It was a wonderful opportunity to bring together all our widely spread parish communities and we hope that the 150 or more who joined us as family, friends, neighbours and communities enjoyed this occasion to celebrate together.
This was a truly unique and historic moment for the British people, as we united to honour and congratulate our longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, with more than 3,500 beacons reportedly being lit around the world.
The Parish Council would very much like to keep in touch with all its parishioners and we would be delighted if those of you who are already signed up to our e-mail communication list or who browse our web site would encourage your friends and neighbours to opt in to receive information on Council activities by contacting info@coberleyparish.co.uk to be added to our list, or to visit our web site at www.coberleyparish.co.uk
Again, many thanks for your support.
